Terms of service
Effective October 8, 2026
These terms cover what you buy from Rating Talk at ratingtalk.com. Rating Talk is a trading name of Emanuel Chereji, Hofmannsthalweg 20/1/4, 4030 Linz, Austria.
They are short on purpose. Anything a normal person would find surprising is in bold.

Prices are in US dollars, and you pay the price the page showed when you bought. Everything is delivered by download.
The price is the total you pay. No tax is added at checkout. A download supplied to a buyer in the United States is supplied there for VAT purposes, whether you buy as a consumer (§ 3a Abs 13 lit a UStG 1994) or for a business (§ 3a Abs 6 UStG 1994), so the sale is outside Austrian VAT; for a consumer in the European Union, any VAT due is included in the price. Nothing is shipped, so there is no delivery charge.
Each purchase is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no recurring charge and no automatic renewal of anything, ever. If you are ever billed twice, that is a mistake: email support@ratingtalk.com and we refund the extra charge within 1–2 business days.
Where we sell
Anyone can buy, wherever they are. Everything we sell is written for workplaces in the United States, and our prices are in US dollars.
You are welcome to read every page of this site from anywhere in the world. We do not block visitors by country and we do not redirect them.
Delivery
Delivery is automatic. Your download buttons appear on the thank-you page after payment, on your order page and in your order confirmation email. Details are in our Shipping Policy.
What you may do with it
Your license. You may download, keep, read and print what you bought and use it in your own work. The words are meant to become yours: say them in your meetings, put them in your written reviews and your emails, edit the files, fill in the templates and give the finished documents to anyone in your organization who takes part in the review, such as the people you manage, your HR team, your own manager and a calibration group. You may also show the files to your HR team, your attorney or another adviser when you ask for advice. That is using what you bought, not republishing it.
The Team License extends this to up to 10 managers in one organization at any one time. You may save the files to a drive those managers can open, or send them the links. Its license terms, on your order page, explain the details and take nothing away from these terms.
What you may not do: resell what you bought or put it into anything you sell; share the files with people your license does not cover; publish them, in whole or in part, on a website, on social media, in a public folder or in a course; or use them to train or advise people outside your own organization, paid or free.
Nothing here stops you from reviewing, rating or criticizing what you bought, anywhere, including by quoting short passages to do it.
The text, the layout and the Rating Talk and Exact Words names remain ours.
Exact Words, bought here
Exact Words is also sold on its own website. When you buy it here, these terms and our Refund Policy apply to your purchase, and your support address is support@ratingtalk.com, even where the book's own pages mention exact-words.com or its address.
Refunds
If it isn't right for you, you get a full refund, with no questions and no conditions, and you keep the files, if you ask within 30 days of your purchase or by January 31, 2027, whichever is later. Email support@ratingtalk.com (your order number helps, but isn't required). The details, and your separate right to withdraw from a purchase, are in our Refund Policy, which adds no condition this paragraph does not have.
The statutory warranty, which is separate from the guarantee
The guarantee above is voluntary. Independently of it, Austrian law gives you a two-year statutory warranty on digital content, and for the first year the law assumes a defect was present from the start unless we prove otherwise. We cannot exclude that and we do not try to.
So if a file does not match how we described it, is missing something we said it contained, or will not open, tell us. That is a legal entitlement, not a favor.
What we promise, and what we do not
Everything we sell is written guidance: practical wording and process guidance for managers. We stand behind the description of what is in it.
It is not legal advice, and we do not promise you a particular result. Your company's policies, your HR team and your company's lawyers come first. How a meeting goes depends on your situation and on what you do, and we have no way to control either. Our Disclaimer at https://ratingtalk.com/pages/disclaimer says more.
Liability
We are liable to you without limit for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for any harm to a person, such as death or bodily harm. None of that is excluded, and no clause here can be read as excluding it.
For ordinary carelessness that causes no harm to a person, our liability is limited to what you paid for the item concerned.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of the country you live in. Where that law gives you more than these terms do, that law wins.
Which law applies, and where you can sue
These terms are governed by Austrian law. That is a floor and not a ceiling: it cannot take away the protection that the mandatory law of your own country of residence gives you.
You keep every court you are entitled to use. If you want to sue us, you may do it in the courts where you live, and nothing here changes that. If we ever need to sue you, we will do it where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version appears here with a new effective date, and it applies to purchases made after that date.
A change never applies to a purchase you have already made, and continuing to use the site is not treated as agreeing to anything. The terms that govern your order are the ones that were on this page when you bought.
